BU Announces Partnership with Keesler Air Force Base

BELLEVUE, Nebraska – Bellevue University, one of the nation’s leaders in preparing students for lifelong success with career-relevant knowledge and skills, and the Keesler Air Force Base, located in Biloxi, Mississippi, and home to the 81st Training Wing (TRW), have formed a new partnership that will provide educational options and professional development opportunities for military and civilian personnel and their families.

“Our standing as a true military friendly school and our willingness to work closely on credit transfer, delivery, course selection flexibility and price were key factors in becoming a select partner,” Stan Hawkins, Assistant Director of Military Programs, said. “We are happy to have a new partnership with the 81st Training Wing, one of the largest technical training wings in the Air Education and Training Command (AETC).”

Through this partnership, Bellevue University will offer four featured programs, including: Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, Bachelor of Science in Management of Human Resources and a Master’s in Cybersecurity.

Bellevue University has close to 140 strategic partnerships, including over 80 corporate partnerships, 45 community college partnerships and 10 military and government partnerships

Keesler dates back to 1941 as the Army Air Corps’ schoolhouse – training everyone from aircraft and engine mechanics to cooks and meat cutters. In 1948, Keesler Field was officially re-designated as an Air Force Base.

Today, the 81st Training Wing is the second largest technical training wing in the Air Force, consisting of military, Department of Defense civilians, and international students. The 81st Medical Group is also located on Keesler and operates the second largest medical center in the Air Force.
