Area Cadets to Commission Virtually

Event will be held Friday, June 12

An United States Army ROTC National Commissioning Event will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Three area Cadets will participate in the event, including: Jasmine Stephens of Bellevue University, Colin Kirsch of Creighton University and Javier Correa of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. They will be sworn into office by the Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Ryan McCarthy.

The event is expected to last about 30 minutes with remarks from General Evans, United States Army Cadet Command Commander. Currently, there are over 1,000 soon-to-be Lieutenants participating to swear in their oath and be officially Commissioned into the US Army.

Due to the current Social Distancing Environment (SDE), the United States Army Cadet Command (USACC) is unable to conduct large-scale face-to-face commissioning ceremonies; therefore, many of the 5,000-plus Cadets to be commissioned this summer will be commissioned virtually.

The event will be streamed online via Facebook and YouTube.
