Online, Applied Learning That Offers Flexibility for Learners

Online learning at Bellevue University was never built as a shortcut or a scaled‑down version of the classroom experience. From its earliest online programs, the University applied a high-quality applied learning teaching model within a digital environment. National media have noted that Bellevue’s approach mirrors the engagement and expectations of traditional classrooms while offering greater flexibility for adult learners. In fact, Bellevue University has been recognized by Newsweek multiple times as one of the country’s top online colleges.

Whenever I’m done with training, I have an hour or two before I go and pick up my son from school. I’ll head into a local coffee shop, open my computer and Bellevue University coursework, and I’ll get a bunch of work done toward my bachelors’ Degree in Sport Management.

I like the flexibility Bellevue University allows me to just go online and take care of my work or do assignments. That part has been great, because when the kids get home, there’s no more free time. The afternoons and evenings, it’s all about them.

Faculty With Deep Experience Teaching Online

Rather than relying on pre‑packaged courses, Bellevue pairs full-time and adjunct faculty, many of whom have work experience in the areas they teach, with instructional designers to intentionally build each online class. The University’s applied learning approach emphasizes interaction, timely feedback, and real‑world application, ensuring students are not learning in isolation. The result is an online experience designed to support persistence, outcomes, and career relevance, whether students are balancing full‑time work, military service, or family responsibilities.

The University offers dozens of degree programs that are 100% online and has a long history of pioneering various online degree programs. For example, Bellevue launched the nation’s first online MBA program in 1996 and also launched an online applied Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) program in 2019.
