Bellevue Community Joins in New Field House Grand Opening Celebration
Bellevue University opened its new Field House on April 23 with a community event. The opening included remarks, a ribbon-cutting, facility tours, and a volleyball scrimmage.

Facility Tours and Activities
On Wednesday, April 23, Bellevue University welcomed the community to the grand opening of its new Field House. The event included comments by University President Mary Hawkins and other distinguished guests. Following a ribbon-cutting, student athletes and Brutus, the Bruins' mascot, helped reveal the main basketball and volleyball court.
Guests could tour the 72,000-plus Field House to view the facility's design and features, and many stayed to catch the Bruins volleyball scrimmage match against Iowa Western Community College.
"We are excited to officially open the Field House, which has been a long-time need. It represents a new era for Bellevue University Bruins and is a space that will serve our students, athletes and our community," said University President, Mary Hawkins. "This new facility reflects our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding opportunities for our students and bringing the Bellevue community together for years to come."
