Exhibit Overview
Bellevue University will host Distorted Love, an art exhibit by Bobbie C. Jones, in the Joyce Norene Wilson Gallery during the month of August. The gallery is located inside the Hitchcock Humanities Center on campus.
The exhibit will include a “Meet the Artist” reception on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 2–4 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with Jones and learn more about her work.
“Creating abstract art allows me to express thoughts and emotions,” Jones said. “I’m drawn to the imperfect and raw nature of graffiti and work to include that in my paintings.”
Artist Background and Work
Bobbie C. Jones served in the U.S. Air Force as a logistician for 20 years before transitioning to the arts. Her work focuses on abstract expression through color, texture, and elements influenced by graffiti.
In addition to creating artwork, Jones works in interior design and helps individuals shape spaces based on their style and needs.
