Bellevue University Announces Educational Partnership With City of Newport News

Thousands of City Employees in the Hampton Roads Area Able to Take Advantage of Generous Tuition Assistance Benefits to Achieve Their Educational Goals

Newport News, Virginia, a city known for its significant military population, has started its educational partnership with Bellevue University, one of the country’s top online universities. 

Through the partnership, tuition assistance is available to the city’s nearly 4,000 employees, the majority of whom live and work in the Hampton Roads area. This includes up to $5,250 per year for full- and part-time employees pursuing Bellevue University undergraduate degrees and up to $6,000 per year for employees enrolled in graduate degree programs. 

Employees’ family members also benefit, and are eligible to receive up to $3,000 in tuition assistance per year when they enroll at Bellevue University. Employees and family members can choose from more than 50 online bachelor’s degrees, nearly 30 master’s degrees and 20-plus certificate programs. 

Pati Moore, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Government Affairs at Bellevue University, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "This partnership positions Bellevue University strategically within this vital region and presents the university with an opportunity to serve a community that plays a critical role in our national defense."
