Employers are looking for students who can confidently apply their cybersecurity knowledge by completing tasks in varied scenarios. A bachelor’s degree shows that a student completed a program of study, but experiences like the National Cyber League give students an opportunity to showcase their skills.

Students demonstrate skills beyond the classroom

The Cyber League gives students an opportunity to apply cybersecurity skills outside the classroom and demonstrate what they can do in a competitive environment. Participants receive a Scouting Report that documents their performance across cybersecurity skill categories, giving students information they can use as they pursue internships and employment.

“The Scouting Report gives students something they can point to when they are competing for jobs against other candidates who also have bachelor’s degrees. They have demonstrated they have the drive to work on honing their skills above and beyond degree requirements. GFiber’s support will help more Bellevue University students gain that experience and demonstrate their cybersecurity skills to employers.”

For students pursuing careers in cybersecurity and related fields, competition experience provides another way to demonstrate technical skills beyond academic coursework. Bellevue University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in cybersecurity and related fields, along with cybersecurity concentrations and certificates. More information is available through the Center for Cybersecurity Education.
