Bellevue University Library to Host Screening of Banned Together: The Fight Against Censorship
The Bellevue University Library will host a public screening of the documentary Banned Together: The Fight Against Censorship on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. CST. The event will take place in Room 480 of the Freeman/Lozier Library, located at 1028 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, Nebraska.
Banned Together follows three students and their adult supporters as they challenge the removal of 97 books from their school libraries. The documentary traces their participation in school board meetings, public demonstrations, and legal proceedings as their advocacy moves from a local effort to a national conversation. The film also features conversations with banned authors, elected officials, and constitutional experts.
