Bellevue University Marks Constitution Day with Voter Registration and Civic Engagement Activities
Bellevue University will observe Constitution Day on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Margre H. Durham Student Center. Students can register to vote, update voter information and learn about civic participation through activities hosted with the League of Women Voters.

Constitution Day Event Promotes Civic Participation and Constitutional Awareness
Bellevue University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the University's Constitution Day event on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in the Margre H. Durham Student Center, located at 1008 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, Nebraska.
The event will feature the League of Women Voters, which will provide information on voting rights, voter registration and civic participation.
Participants can also take part in a Constitution-themed trivia game or stop by for swag items.
Bellevue University encourages students to examine the principles of citizenship both inside and outside the classroom. The Kirkpatrick Signature Series explores American ideals, institutions and civic engagement, while Constitution Day provides an opportunity for students to put those lessons into practice by registering to vote and learning about participation in the democratic process.
Constitution Day marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution by delegates to the Constitutional Convention on Sept. 17, 1787. The federal observance also recognizes individuals who hold U.S. citizenship.
The event supports Bellevue University's mission to encourage civic participation. All undergraduate students complete the Kirkpatrick Signature Series (KSS), a course series that examines the principles of American government and the responsibilities of citizenship.
