Recognition and Support for Military Students
Bellevue University has been named one of the nation’s “Best for Vets” colleges by Military Times for 2025. This recognition highlights the University’s commitment to supporting military service members, veterans, and their families.
“From its founding, Bellevue University has been committed to offering higher education to those who serve our nation,” said Dr. Mary Hawkins, President of Bellevue University. “We provide Veterans, military students and their spouses with courses and resources that are accessible regardless of changing duty stations. Our faculty and staff, many of whom have military backgrounds, support them in their studies and lives, as they pursue their personal and professional goals.”
As a designated Purple Heart Campus, Bellevue University offers varied resources for military students, including the Military Veteran Services Center, which provides support and transition services for those who have served.
Bellevue University is one of five institutions in Nebraska to receive the 2025 Best for Vets designation. Others are Central Community College, Western Nebraska Community College, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and University of Nebraska Omaha.
The 2025 Best for Vets survey includes responses from more than 300 public and private schools that answered more than 70 questions on their services and program- specific to military students, including active duty, veterans and dependents of service members.
