Bellevue University Presents “Women of Business” on Friday, August 23; Invites Aspiring Entrepreneurs to Attend and Be Inspired

Bellevue University will present “Women of Business,” an event designed to support and develop aspiring entrepreneurs, on Friday, Aug. 23, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the John B. Muller Administrative Services Building, 812 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, NE 68005.

The “Women of Business” event features a panel of four women business owners from the Omaha metropolitan area: Diva Mejias, owner and President of DM Financial Services, Inc.; Sophia Jordan, owner of Black Bottom Biscotti; Esther Mejia, founder and Creative Director of E Creative; and Ismara Gonzalez, owner of Isla Del Mar Restaurante.

According to Gina Ponce, Bellevue University’s Director of Latino Community Outreach, the panel discussion and luncheon is an opportunity for attendees to be inspired and to learn how, specifically, the panelists, who are all business owners, started and have sustained their businesses. “Bellevue University is excited to help share the unique insights that these successful female business owners have with those who may be considering starting a business, or who are already engaged with a business. Their experiences are valuable and inspiring. We believe that sharing them strengthens the metro business community.”

Ponce added that the “Women of Business” event is the first in a quarterly series of female-focused leadership events that Bellevue University will present. “Each quarter, we are looking forward to highlighting the achievements of the women leaders in our community who are excelling in diverse areas that range from business to education to non-profit services and more,” she said.

The “Women of Business event is open to the public and the cost is $15. Lunch is included in the registration. Attendees can register online at https://www.bellevue.edu/event-forms/women-of-business/.
