Bellevue University Recognized Among Nation’s Best for Supporting Veterans in 2024
Bellevue University has been named one of the nation’s “Best for Vets” colleges by Military Times for 2024. This recognition highlights the University’s commitment to supporting military service members, veterans, and their families.
“From its founding, Bellevue University has been committed to offering higher education to those who serve our nation,” said Dr. Mary Hawkins, President of Bellevue University. “We provide Veterans, military students and their spouses with courses and resources that are accessible regardless of changing duty stations. Our faculty and staff, many of whom have military backgrounds, support them in their studies and lives, as they pursue their personal and professional goals.”
As a designated Purple Heart campus, Bellevue University offers resources tailored to military students, including the University’s Military Veteran Services Center – a facility focused on support and transition services for those who have served in uniform.
Bellevue University is one of five institutions in Nebraska to receive the 2024 Best for Vets designation. Others are Central Community College, Western Nebraska Community College, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and University of Nebraska Omaha.
The 2024 Best for Vets rankings are based on survey responses from 325 colleges and universities, which provided information on their services for military-affiliated students. Data from the Department of Education and the Department of Veterans Affairs further informed the rankings, providing a comprehensive look at how institutions support active-duty military, veterans, and dependents of service members.
