Bellevue University Students Score Pair of Top 5 Finishes at FBLA-Collegiate Nationals

Maria Pinedo placed fifth in the Foundations of Management category at the FBLA-Collegiate Nationals held in June in Orlando, Florida.

Maria Pinedo, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Finance, also placed fifth in the Foundations of Management category in the Nebraska state competition.

Andres Valencia and Carlos Ortega placed fourth in the Management Case Study category at Nationals.

Ortega and Valencia, who are pursuing a Master of Science in Business Analytics and a Bachelor of Sports Management, respectively, took second place in the Management Case Study category at the state level.

Bellevue University College of Business students placed in the top five in two different categories at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)-Collegiate National competition held June 24-27 in Orlando, Florida.

This year, college students competed in more than 100 event categories. More than $120,000 in scholarships were awarded to the top-ranked students in the events.

Bellevue University student Maria Pinedo placed fifth in the Foundations of Management category. Pinedo is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Finance.

Bellevue University students Andres Valencia and Carlos Ortega placed fourth in the Management Case Study category. Valencia is pursuing a Bachelor of Sports Management with an Emphasis in Athletic Coaching, while Ortega is earning his Master of Science in Business Analytics.

Dr. Laurel Mitchell, Program Director in Acquisition and Contract Management and Professor, served as the Bellevue University team advisor.
