Bellevue University Takes Home Workplace Learning Award

ATD Nebraska Recognizes University for Implementing Innovative Corporate Learning Programs

Bellevue University has been named recipient of the 2018 Leading Organization in Workplace Learning Award, which is presented annually by the Nebraska Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD Nebraska). Jon Titus, Director of Bellevue University’s College of Continuing and Professional Education, accepted the award at the ATD Nebraska annual awards gala held on January 25.

The Leading Organization in Workplace Award recognizes an Omaha area company or organization that is “dedicated to providing top-notch and effective learning strategies for their employees.” Past award winners include Union Pacific Railroad, Heartland Family Service, ConAgra Foods and NEI Global Relocation. According to ATD Nebraska, Bellevue University was selected for its innovation and success in providing effective learning strategies for some of America’s leading employers. In 2018, Bellevue University, through Guild Education, was selected as a featured educational partner of both The Walt Disney Company and Walmart to provide education-as-a-benefit program for their employees. Together, Disney and Walmart employ more than 1.3 million people across the United States.

Titus said the University’s success in serving corporate students starts with from its strong online degree program offerings but also rests on its ability to customize, and contextualize, education programs “to achieve the desired results and outcomes of our corporate partners.” Titus added that the University’s focus on corporate learning strategies is internal, as well as external. He said faculty and staff benefit from a wide range of online and face-to-face learning opportunities, designed to meet the unique needs of adult learners.
