Bellevue University will host a book launch event on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, for retired Assistant Professor Donna Hewlett and her new novel, Love is All, published by Old Fort Press.

The event will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Quiet Lounge of the Margre H. Durham Student Center, 1008 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, NE 68005. It is free and open to the public.

The event will include a reading and audience Q&A with Hewlett, followed by a book signing and light refreshments.

Set against the backdrop of a European adventure, Love is All follows Jayne Thompson—a wife, mother, and part-time librarian—who chooses to keep her cancer diagnosis private and instead embarks on a solo journey to rediscover her passions. The novel explores themes of choice, change, and personal purpose.

Hewlett, an Omaha resident, holds degrees in psychology, English, and creative writing, including an MFA in Writing from the University of Nebraska. Over the course of her career, she has worked as a journalist, taught literature and composition across the country, and served as Director of the MFA in Creativity program at Bellevue University.
