Bellevue University to Host Conversation on Art+Science Incubator Projects
Bellevue University will host a conversation reflecting on the Art + Science: Nature’s Colors event on November 7 at 6 p.m. at the Dock in Millwork Commons (1229 Millwork Ave Omaha, Nebraska 68102). This discussion will examine the process of creating groundbreaking art with algae, showcasing insights gained from the previous event and future incubator collaborations.
The conversation will feature David Joel Thomas, Creative Arts Program Director, and John Kyndt, Professor of Microbiology and Sustainability, who will revisit their work on the innovative project that combines cutting-edge microbiology and native plant research at Bellevue University.
They will revisit the collaboration with internationally recognized artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero of Luftwerk. They spent time on campus during an artist residency exploring how nature’s colors can influence our understanding of art and science.
The evening will also include a screening of a documentary short related to the project, providing an engaging experience that blends creativity, science, and philosophical discussion and an introduction to upcoming projects.
