Bellevue and Mexican Consulate Co-Host International Women's Day Event

Bellevue University, in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Omaha, will host Mexico con M de Mujer, a community event recognizing International Women’s Day and Movimiento 8M.

The free event will take place March 9, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. CT in the Hitchcock Humanities Auditorium at Bellevue University and is open to the public.

Head Consul of Mexico in Omaha, Jorge Ernesto Espejel Montes, will open the program with remarks on the importance of recognizing women’s leadership and promoting inclusive community engagement.

Event Inspired by Mexico con M de Mujer

Inspired by a national initiative honoring women’s contributions to society, Mexico con M de Mujer aims to amplify voices that support empowerment, representation, and collaboration across cultures and generations. The event invites students, families, and community members to hear personal stories and take part in conversations about women’s leadership and opportunity. The program also seeks to encourage young women and future leaders through shared stories of resilience and achievement.
