Bellevue University to Host Presentation on African-American Soldiers in the Civil War
The Bellevue University Library will host a presentation by Spencer Davis, a retired Peru State College professor, on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room 480 of the Freeman/Lozier Library on the University’s main campus.
Titled African-American Soldiers in the Civil War: Fighting on Two Fronts, the presentation will examine African-American soldiers during the Civil War, including their roles in battle and their experiences seeking equal treatment in the Union Army.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Lots A and B. Registration is not required, but attendees may register in advance at https://bellevue.libcal.com/event/16042602.
