Bellevue University will present at the 2024 PeopleSoft RECONNECT Dive Deep virtual conference, Oct. 28-31.

The University will present on its implementation of Oracle's Autonomous Database (ADB), a pioneering initiative in higher education. Bellevue University, one of the nation’s top online institutions, is the first university in the country to partner with Oracle in deploying this advanced database.

Bellevue's project was the nation's first pilot of the Oracle database technology in the country. The technology was integrated with the University Campus Solutions system. The use of ADB will allow Bellevue University staff to speed the pace of application development, ultimately benefiting thousands of students worldwide.

A team of Oracle Systems Analysts and Software Engineers from the Information Technology Application Services division handled the management of the project, which was pivotal to its success.

Bellevue staff said they have already noticed significant improvements in performance for several core processes, such as the Blackboard Snapshot, as well as many reports. Team members said they would continue to leverage the increased performance and new features to improve the University's system further, providing a better experience for staff, faculty, and students.

By implementing ADB, the University has future-proofed its system, enabling it to update, scale, and incorporate new Oracle technologies seamlessly. Bellevue University’s successful deployment of the Autonomous Database sets a precedent for other institutions to adopt this innovative technology in the future.
