BELLEVUE, Nebraska – Alexis Perea, Director of Guild Partnership Admissions at Bellevue University, has been selected to participate in the 2021 Bellevue Chamber Leadership Program.

The Leadership Program is dedicated to providing a comprehensive learning experience that cultivates community leadership while participants explore key community issues and avenues of involvement. The Program is presented by the Bellevue Economic Enhancement Foundation in partnership with the Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce and will start Feb. 9 with a Leadership Graduation being held Oct. 12. Participants are required to attend the Program one full day each month.

Perea was selected via a nomination process.

“This is a momentous opportunity to be selected to participate in the 2021 Bellevue Chamber Leadership Program,” Perea said. “Programs such as these are critical to any community for the simple fact that when you come together to inspire participation and innovation, the development of a strong community continues to be rewarding. Being a part of the Leadership Program will help me apply prior and future knowledge to carry out Bellevue University’s mission.”

The Program focuses on applying leadership skills to facets of the Bellevue community including environmental/natural resources, education, government, health and human services, community life, and business and industry/economic development. In addition, small groups work on projects designed to enhance awareness of community problems, identify systems and methods to effect change.

“I’m pleased Alexis was selected for this year’s Bellevue Chamber Leadership Program,” President Dr. Mary Hawkins said. “She is an up and coming leader and she will develop a keen understanding of our community and build a network that will be valuable and support her career.”

In her role at Bellevue University, Perea oversees the admissions process for the University’s partnership with Guild Education. Founded in 2015, Guild is a Denver-based firm that focuses on providing education benefits. Bellevue University now enrolls Guild students from 17 companies, such as Disney, Walmart, Chipotle and more.

Perea also serves as a Scholarship Reviewer, as a Student Athletes Value Education Mentor, a Community Engagement Volunteer and on the Wellness Committee at Bellevue University. She was recently selected to serve as a chapter council member for the American Society of Public Administration. She has a Master of Public Administration degree from Bellevue University and an undergraduate degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
