Bellevue University to Host Virtual Career Fair for Students, Alumni on October 27
Event on Handshake Technology Platform Offers Opportunity to Connect Personally With Employers
Bellevue University will host a Virtual Career Fair on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for current students and alumni.
The event, featuring companies such as Veridian Credit Union, Mosaic, Ameritrade and Children’s Hospital, will be held online via Handshake, a career fair technology platform that works through mobile devices. Online attendees will learn about job, career and internship opportunities in a variety of industries and career fields.
Participants must register to attend. Participants will need to establish a “career fair schedule” by registering for group or individual virtual sessions with employers.
There is also the opportunity for attendees to join the Career Fair Ready workshop, on Oct. 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. online via Handshake to learn quick tips to get ready for the fair event. This prep session will share how a student creates a Career Fair schedule, where they sign up for times to either attend a 30-minute group session or a 10-minute one-on-one session with a recruiter.
“Career Services hopes that students and alumni take advantage of this opportunity to network with employers,” said Terra Beethe, Career Services Coach “Virtual fairs are more personal since there isn’t the outside chaos, noise or further distractions that typically occur with in-person fairs.”
Participants should plan ahead for the Virtual Career Fair by registering, preparing a resume, making sure their technology is ready and wearing a professional outfit. Participants must register to attend.
