Local Veterans and First Responders Will Perform at the Holland Performing Arts Center During Hero’s Encore Celebration on Sept. 27

Hero’s Encore invites the community to attend its Stage 1 Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 2–4 p.m. at the Holland Center’s Scott Hall, 1200 Douglas St., Omaha. Admission is free, but registration is appreciated.
The event marks the graduation of participants who have completed Stage 1 of Hero’s Encore’s music-based mentorship program that supports Veterans, first responders and transitioning service members with a resiliency program designed to restore identity, confidence and purpose after service.
“Stage 1 is a moment where our participants step forward with renewed purpose and a stronger sense of identity,” said Taylor Ullom, Executive Director and Founder of Hero’s Encore.
Guests at the Stage 1 Celebration will enjoy live performances, meet program graduates, and hear firsthand how music has helped participants reconnect with themselves, their families, and their community.
Ullom, herself an Air Force Veteran, added that “We are especially grateful to the Holland Performing Arts Center for opening its doors to us and providing a space where music and community truly come together.”
Hero’s Encore launched in 2025 with a mission to keep support local, and include first responders and transitioning service members. Today, the non-profit is focused on building a broader resiliency program that uses musical expression as a tool for healing, self-discovery, and restoring purpose after service.
Ullom said that Omaha Performing Arts, which operated the Holland Performing Arts Center, is an important partner in making the celebration possible. Omaha Performing Arts regularly provides rehearsal and performance space for nonprofit organizations, helping groups like Hero’s Encore reach wider audiences and deepen their impact.
