May 31st Job Fair Is Opportunity for Veterans and Local Employers to Connect

Event Sponsored by Bellevue University and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Some of the biggest metro area employers who are committed to hiring veterans will have a chance to connect with prospective hires at a Veterans’ Job & Resource Fair on Thursday, May 31, 4-7 p.m. at Bellevue University. The event will be held in the John B. Muller Administrative Services Building, Lower Atrium, 1000 Galvin Road South in Bellevue.

According to Wade Jensen, Manager of the University’s Military Veteran Services Center, the event is an excellent opportunity for veterans and their family members to connect face to face with organizations that have a strong track record of employing veterans – and vice versa. “We’re fortunate that there are a number of employers here in our community who recognize the unique skills and perspective that military men and women can bring to their organizations,” said Jensen. The list of employers participating in the job fair includes: UPS, Thrasher, Cintas, American National Bank, Streck, Colonial Life, Warren Distribution, Omni Hotels, Crown Services, First Data, Ameristar, Prime Flight, Omaha World-Herald, Beardmore, Ralston Public Schools, Papio Transport, Mutual of Omaha, SPR and Allied Universal.

In addition to the employers who will participate, Jensen said there will be organizations that provide resources to veterans and their family members participating. The Veterans’ Job and Resource Fair is being co-sponsored by Bellevue University and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
