Military Retirees and Spouses Invited to Senior Health Awareness Fair Set for March 3

Event Will Focus on Education and Access to Benefits

The Offutt Retiree Activity Office has invited M.R.S. Healthcare (Military, Retirees & Spouses) to hold a Health Awareness Fair for all Senior retired military personnel and their spouses (65 and over) on Thursday, March 3, from 2-4 p.m., in the Hitchcock Humanities Center on the Bellevue University campus, 1040 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, NE 68005. 

Attendees are asked to RSVP by emailing offuttretirees@gmail.com prior to the event. You can also RSVP by calling toll free (888) 456-0776. 

The health fair event is also open to military personnel and spouses who are preparing for retirement. “If you’re 180 days out from retirement, this event is really a great way to prepare you for that major life event,” explained Orville Maxon, Assistant Director of the Offutt Retiree Activities Office, Maxon added that surviving spouses are also encouraged to attend the fair. 
At the event, attendees will hear several presentations, including:

● Motivational Presentation by Roger Nelson, Health Promotion Director, Offutt AFB – “Here to Help You Thrive” 
● Benefit Overview Presentation by Humana - administrator for TRICARE For Life 
● Planning for the Future Presentation by Debbi Buike, Volunteer Director of Offutt Retiree Activities Office – “Paper Safe Benefits Guide for Loved Ones' ' gifted by the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. 
● Carole Armstrong, Licensed Insurance Agent, Healthcare Education Advocate - Host

Attendees will also be able to speak with representatives from several benefit provider organizations, including Humana, United Healthcare, Aetna and others. 

“Our focus is on education and efficiency with regard to benefits,” said Buike. “We want retired military personnel and their spouses to feel supported and knowledgeable about the benefits they’ve earned and now are ready to access.” 

After the fair concludes, attendees can attend a casual Meet & Greet reception at the Bellevue University Military Veteran Services (MVSC) Center from 4-6 p.m. The MVSC is located on the north end of the university campus at 2108 Harvell Circle, Bellevue, NE 68005.
