MVSC Invites Community to Take Part in Scrollathon at Joslyn Art Museum
The Bellevue University Military Veteran Services Center (MVSC) will participate in a community art initiative at the Joslyn Art Museum and invites the public to join.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., the MVSC will take part in a Scrollathon workshop led by artist-brothers Steven and William Ladd.
Participants will create two textile scrolls—one to keep and one to contribute to a larger artwork. The finished piece will be displayed at the Joslyn Art Museum and will represent Nebraska at the United States’ 250th birthday celebration in Washington, D.C., in 2026.
The workshop is free, but space is limited. To reserve a spot, email mvsc@bellevue.edu. Registered participants will receive the museum’s participation agreement form.
Earlier that day, the Joslyn will host Art-tastic Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with an informal display of Scrollathon works.
In spring 2026, the completed Scrollathon project will be on view in the museum’s Connect Gallery, alongside photographs from the workshops. Participants will be invited back for the exhibition opening.
