National & Super Bowl Championship Player Will Connect Football and Career Success at March 28 Event

Tony Veland, Former Husker Turned Business Development Pro, on Tap for Bellevue University College of Business Speaker Series Event

Bellevue University will welcome Tony Veland – a former national champion with the Nebraska Cornhuskers and a Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos – as its keynote speaker for the College of Business Speaker Series event scheduled for Thursday, March 28, noon to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Criss Auditorium in the Hitchcock Humanities Center, 1040 Bruin Blvd., on the University’s campus in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Veland, an Omaha native who is now Director of Business Development at the Omaha AIM Institute, played defensive back on the 1994 and 1995 Nebraska national championship teams. Denver selected Veland in the sixth round of the 1996 draft and he won a Super Bowl championship ring with the team in 1997. Veland’s topic for the March 28 event will be “How Football Prepared Me for Life.”

After retiring from professional football, Veland coached the Omaha Beef and worked as a financial advisor and youth athletics coach. At AIM, Veland’s team supports the AIM Brain Exchange, a free tech education program for underserved youth.

The free, public event will be available to view via livestream at: https://mediastream.bellevue.edu/Mediasite/Play/3638acacd6564fa78481ab93277d5d9e1d
