Scam Alert: Bellevue University Warns of Email Scam Tied to Library Pop-Up Event
Bellevue University has been made aware of a scam involving emails impersonating a member of the library staff. These emails claimed to be connected to a University event and asked recipients to send money.
No Bellevue University staff member will request payment by email for any event or service. If you received such an email, do not respond, click links, or send money.
A report has been filed with law enforcement. If you believe you were affected by this scam, contact your local police department to report it.
The Bellevue University Library Pop-Up Shop Vendor Event is still scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Freeman/Lozier Library, 1028 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, Nebraska. The event is free to attend. Purchases are only necessary if an individual chooses to buy something from a vendor.
Bellevue University will continue to monitor the situation and report any related activity to the appropriate authorities.
