Bellevue University Professors Use Brooklyn Bridge as Model for Leadership Ethics Discussion at WBM Conference

Bellevue University’s Professor Stephen Linenberger and Associate Professor Pat Artz have been confirmed to present their research paper, Building The Great Bridge: A Case Study in Leadership Ethics, at the upcoming Western Business Management International Research Conference in April 2024.

The conference is scheduled to take place in New York, NY, at Cornell University - Manhattan Campus, School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

WBM is a research conference series focusing on major business management disciplines, including a track for pedagogical demonstrations of original management teaching methods.

Linenberger and Artz’ paper examines how ethical leadership played a role in the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge, drawing insights from history, leadership, management, and philosophy.

The well known landmark has been an interest of Linenberger’s for quite some time and the conference will serve as a great opportunity to share their findings.

Linenberger expressed anticipation for showcasing the Brooklyn Bridge, emphasizing its significance as a symbol of enduring change, reflective of leadership values. “It will be an honor to introduce more business management teachers and researchers to a new way of teaching leadership ethics,” said Linenberger.

He stressed the importance of creating compelling real-world case scenarios to illustrate the timeless and universal ethical themes inherent in all leadership situations.
